Volunteers are Missed During This Time

volunteersVolunteers play an important role at Ascension St. Mary’s. Last year, 144 individuals volunteered more than 10,599 hours in various departments throughout the hospital and its offsite locations.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteers have not returned to their volunteer activities.

In the meantime, the Happy Hearts Gift Shop has been open for limited hours and staffed by the hospital gift shop associates.  During the past months, the Gift Shop has been generous in providing candy and snacks to the front line healthcare providers during the pandemic. As the weather begins to change, the Gift Shop is offering new fall merchandise and clothing items.

For the many thrift shoppers, the Ascension St. Mary’s Volunteer Alliance Timeless Treasures Thrift Store is still closed to ensure our volunteers are safe and healthy.  The thrift store is completely run by volunteers and provides free or low-priced items to those in our community, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Please remember the thrift shop when deciding where to donate your household goods, furniture, children’s items and clothing.  Timeless Treasures will accept donations when volunteer activity resumes.

Ascension St. Mary’s extends a special thanks to the many talented individuals who volunteer week after week, month after month.  The entire Ascension St. Mary’s family misses you.  Until we see you again, be safe.
