Ascension St. Mary's Earns High Marks from Two Organizations

Ascension St. Mary's, the area's only Comprehensive Stroke Center, has received the highest award available for stroke care. We've been recognized by the American Heart Association with a Gold Plus Award for adhering to exacting guidelines for providing the most advanced stroke care available. Having the most advanced stroke care in the area means that our patient's aren't transferred to an out-of-town hospital for a higher level of care. Ascension St. Mary’s and our dedicated caregivers have been recognized in the latest U.S. News & World Report hospital rankings. The news outlet annually reviews hospitals’ performance in adult and pediatric clinical specialties, procedures and conditions. Scores are based on several factors, including survival, patient safety, nurse staffing and more. Hospitals are ranked nationally in specialties from cancer to urology and rated in common procedures and conditions, such as heart bypass surgery, hip and knee replacement and COPD. Hospitals are also ranked regionally within states and major metro areas.

Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital rated “high performing” in two adult procedures and conditions: heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
